Deeper into the Word and culture: Something to chew on...

The definitions of modesty, discretion, shamefacedness, and spiritual purity face certain compromise, if not utter rejection, when Christians stop viewing purity and nakedness from God's point of view as expressed through His Word, and start accepting what the world describes as the proper amount and type of material covering and when they are appropriate. Covering "key areas" is not enough, and there should be no location exceptions (ie: the beach), because God gives no exceptions, only His expectations for His children. Getting back to the basics, getting back to the Word, searching it out in His Word to find God's true expectations as far as what type and how much material covering is acceptable in His eyes, that is the only way to live as a Christian, lest we be labeled a hypocrite. Christians should not accept the world's definition of purity and modesty, but should stick to God's expectations, no matter the ridicule that may follow. This world is not eternal, and this world will not last. God's kingdom will, so it is He that we should seek to please. He wants men to act and look like men, and He wants women to act and look like women/ladies, all according to His standards, not the world's. If we could start seeing things through God's eyes, as led by His Word, and detesting what He detests, rather than accepting and even practicing it, we could see a major reformation happen that would have the potential to change lives for God and bring more truly to His Kingdom. As Christians, our expectations should mirror God's, no exceptions.
