In the life of a person who has been reconciled through Christ, the first step to a closer fellowship with Him is obedience. Love what God loves. Hate what God hates. Seek after Him in all that you do. Live only to please Him in thoughts, actions, and words. Strive daily to be a walking testimony of His command to be set apart from this world in words, actions, and appearance. A person who is fully committed to Christ cannot resemble the world. It is about as possible for a true heart Christian to blend in with the world as it is for a mountain to hide in a desert. Live so that the world may see the result of being "set apart" on the outside, so that they may come to know the Spirit on the inside and be led to the Savior. Seek to be different. Not for the sake of the statement, but so that it will be apparent to every person that sees you that you belong to a kingdom that is not of this world.
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2
